The Saffola Chinese & Italian Flavor Oats are here!

The Saffola Chinese & Italian Flavor Oats are here!

Saffola is a common name in everyone’s households in India. It is definitely a brand I am hugely familiar with so when we were invited to Delhi for their flavored oats launch, I packed my bag! Greeted at The Grand hotel in Vasant Kunj, we were introduced to Chef Kunal Kapur who spoke about Saffola Masala Oats, Chefs Choice range in Italian & Chinese flavors. The setup was lovely with a chinese section & another Italian one. When you think of oats, you always think of a bland and a slimey looking dish so as Kunal spoke about it to be a savory dish, I was intrigued. I approach oats as a health dish & also have always eaten it as a porridge. When they served both the oats, I was hugely surprised by the smell and it tasted extremely flavorful. It was a completely new oats experience for me and I questioned him if all this masala would take away from the nutrition factor of the oats and he said, “No.” 🙂 I actually really am pleasantly surprised by the product with it’s distinct tastes and I really wished they made the Italian white sauce flavor too. ·         Saffola Masala Oats Chefs Choice Chinese Flavor has a spicy tangy taste, which comes from a mix of juicy corn, crunchy french beans and capsicum, leaving you with an authentic Chinese flavour. ·         Saffola Masala Oats Chefs Choice Italian Flavor is a delectable mix of green capsicum, spicy red chilli flakes, oregano and a dash of pepper which gives it a cheesy taste with just the right amount of spice. Post the introduction and tasting of the products, they  invited Chef Shipra Khanna and Chef Saransh Goila who went on to create some unique and interesting snacking recipes through their master class with the bloggers. While Chef Shipra chose Italian Saffola Masala Oats and came up with the delicious Cottage cheese oats with yogurt and apple salad recipe, Chef Saransh Goila picked the Chinese variant and prepared Saffola Masala Oats Chinese Wraps in just a few minutes. Post this they also had setup cooking stations for us bloggers where we were asked to create new dishes using the...

Review: Twiss Sparkling Fruit Juice

Review: Twiss Sparkling Fruit Juice

I have always gone on about the beauty of fruits and I love drinking any concoctions with fruits in it as ingredients. Also as summer sets in nothing is better than a nice good fruit juice. The brand TWISS has launched it’s sparkling fruit juice in India now available in four variants – Apple with a twist of Black Currant; Mango with a twist of Lime; Lemon with a twist of Mint and Passion fruit with a twist of Orange. I was excited to see that the product is free of artificial colors and sweeteners even though I am not such a huge fan of aerated drinks. Packed in a colorful can, this is something you can definitely sip on to refresh yourself. The flavor combinations though are great with the apple with a blackcurrant twist being my favorite followed by Mango with a twist of lime. I like weird combinations because it automatically challenges my senses and how I would perceive it. The Lemon with a twist of mint reminds me completely of a mojito and I have loved that taste hugely for a long period of my life. Also I personally love passion fruit, I was more excited about tasting the passion fruit with a twist of orange drink but I can’t say it thrilled me as such. I am not sure about the packaging because the really colorful cans can be pretty jarring on the eyes but for kids & the younger generation bright colors always catch the eyes. Overall though with it’s good – tasting juices, I would probably happily gulp these juices whenever I see them around. Let us know if you have tried them as well! 🙂 Rating –...

Celebrate Womenhood at Viviana Mall!

Celebrate Womenhood at Viviana Mall!

Being a woman is beautiful and time and again women have been told they have to be a certain way or they can’t do this or that. It’s great that more women are doing what they choose to do and living life on their own terms. Viviana Mall is celebrating womanhood from 7th February, 2016 – 11th February, 2016 & has organized a plethora of pampering activities exclusively for womens right from nail spa to attractive shopping offers etc. We went to check out the offers and first enjoyed a small foot massage by Aroma Thai Spa near the information desk. I find it hard often with most Thai spas to communicate with the masseuse as they barely speak English or Hindi which I think would be great if they could change it. Other than that, totally relaxing 15 min foot massage. With a nail  polish counter as well, a woman could opt for fun nailpolishes to paint the town a fun color. We headed to Northern Tadka for dinner and I absolutely loved the decor. I am a new non-animal eater so for me it’s truly an interesting experience to try new dishes. I was not a huge fan of the cocktails or drinks at the place though the main course with paneer butter masala and delicously soft cheese, garlic naan and dal khichdi completely made up for it. Also I personally feel certain vegetables like mushrooms or babycorns lose their charm and original taste when you douse them with too much masala which happens at most Indian joints. Yet the paneer quality was superb. I barely eat paneer and I totally went for it. The dessert with gulab jamun and jalebbi with kheer was a lovely way to end the meal too. Post dinner we thought lets check out Cinemapolis and caught the film Neerja. I really like Viviana mall and have watched several films here before & I truly like the hall. It was a good film and with lots of late night tea we ended our women’s celebration experience. You can still catch the women’s day celebrations at Viviana Mall as it’s on till tomorrow 11th march. Go and enjoy! 🙂...

The Cantonese Culinary at Sofitel BKC is an Absolute Delight

The Cantonese Culinary at Sofitel BKC is an Absolute Delight

Needless to say I love food and when Sofitel BCK invited me to taste the Cantonese food at the Pondichéry Café, I had to try it out. The option to choose from were a lot and coming all the way from Pullman Shanghai Skyway, Chef Allen Zhao has created a wonderful menu. There was a Vegetarian and a chicken soup to choose from and of course I went with the non veg option. Flavourful and amazing to taste, it really gave a kick to my taste buds which wanted more and more. Then came the salad. The options were a Sprout Salad and Chicken and Pok Choy Salad. I took my fill of both of them along with Chicken Dim sums. All of these tasted really well. The next course was a stir fry of your own choice. A lot of veggies like Chinese cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, beans, baby corn etc were laid out and one could choose from the selection which would be stir fried in their choice of sauce along with chicken. I opted for black bean sauce which was amazing. The end result made me want to go back for more. But I stopped my greedy self because there was so much more in the next course. The main course included options like Fried Cantonese Choy Sum, Kale with Garlic, Shrimps with Longjing Tea, Pan-Fried Codfish in Soya Sauce, Scalded Cantonese Water Spinach, Truffle Prawn, Stewed White Cabbage with Mushroom. I loved the taste of all of the dishes mentioned above. Even though I took really small portions of all of the dishes available, still I was thoroughly full and really had no space for amazing dessert of caramel custard. But I still indulged in it and it just melted in my mouth. Overall the entire menu was amazingly curated and tasted to perfection. The food was a little bland at times and people who love spicy food, they might not be able to enjoy it to the hilt. Otherwise I don’t think there was anything wrong with the entire festival. The festival ends soon, so head to the Sofitel BKC soon to enjoy some world class...

The Future Theory Festival: A Wonderful Combination of Music & History

The Future Theory Festival: A Wonderful Combination of Music & History

If our past posts are any inkling, you guys know how much Anwesha and I love music. Add to it some history and we are good to go. That is what the Future Theory Festival was. Set amidst the greenery of the Jadhavgar fort, it was a delight. The festival space was spread over vast greenery and rocky slopes, with the golden sky greeting all and sundry. Future Theory Festival brought together the best artists from the underground electronic music genre and curated a harmonious delight that will resound in your head for ever. Star gazing, mountain biking, yoga sessions, poolside gigs, truck food, barbeques were just some of the added fun things along with the music of course. What we relished the most was the relaxed bohemian vibe of the festival; the mattresses and side pillows laid out on the fields allowed us to lie down and enjoy the cool breeze and soft sun along with good artists performing up on the stage. We had a lot of fun lazing around on the mattresses while the musicians spun up some of the most amazing music on their console. Oh what a day! We explored the entire fort and the beautiful vibe of the historical monument which had two swimming pools as well. The party next to the pool was another beaut. Imagine sitting knee deep in water, shadowed by trees and flowers floating around you spreading their fragrance. A drink in your hand and beautiful music being created right in front of your eyes. It was a revelation of its own. Overall a total hit with us and once we were back we were totally missing the fort & the vibe! We look forward to the next Future Theory...
